Matin is a seventh-generation Afghan master potter and is internationally recognized for his technical skill and elegant designs. A native of Istalif, Afghanistan, Matin was forced to flee following the Taliban takeover. Matin and his family have resettled in Northwest Connecticut, and despite the challenges of refugee status, Matin is proud to continue the artisanal legacy of his native village, and is energized by the opportunities that lie ahead.
