The JCC in Sherman Presents the Bruce T. Carroll Band
Saturday, November 6th at 7PM
After years spent “lost in the wilderness” of music and commerce ( i.e. building and running a music venue in Larchmont, NY, the famed Watercolor Cafe), Bruce T. Carroll has returned to his roots and his first and abiding love: lyric songwriting. With the release of his first official album, Ruckus and Romance, Bruce has forged a new career as a singer-songwriter using irony and imagery as tools in trade, like shoeing a horse. His band, and the players on Ruckus and Romance, including Marc Shulman, Tommy Mandel, Sara Milonovich, Clifford Carter, Lincoln Schleifer, Nicole Alifante, and Joe Bonadio, help bring this stable of songs to life.
In March 2020 Bruce released a powerful new song and video called Lift Your Head Up. It was, in essence, a call to action, a call to activism. A call to acknowledge the extreme and abject conditions suffered by so many in this world and a commitment to do something about it. It is a work that represents much of what Bruce has sought, through artful songcraft and powerful music, to convey to the world. As he releases his third album in the last five years, Bruce's belief that music and social conscience derive from the same wellspring of humanity continues to drive him forward.
This will be a four piece band with:
-Me on lead vocals and rythym guitar
-Marc Shulman on lead guitar (Suzanne Vega, Richard Shindell)
-Tommy Mandel on keyboards (Bryan Adam’s, Dire Straits, Ian Hunter)
-Miles East on percussion (Janita, Blake Morgan)
Reservations are required and must be purchased online before the event. Tickets are $20 members and $25 Non-members. This concert is scheduled to be indoors. Masks are required to be worn by all attendees regardless of vaccination status.
