Celebrate (a late) National Poetry Month with the us on Saturday, May 10, 1-4 pm!

This event is FREE for both poets wishing to share their work, verbally or otherwise, as well as guests wishing to be an audience for our poets to read to and network with.

Poets will have an opportunity to share poetry with other poets and express themselves through the spoken word. For those who do not feel comfortable sharing their poetry out loud, poems can be displayed around the community center for attendees to read and enjoy.

Event Schedule:

• The event will begin at 1:00pm with 30 minutes to mingle and for those poets not comfortable sharing on stage, this will be the time to post their printed/handwritten poems around the facility for viewing

• The performance begins with 5 minute readings from 10 poets including several local poet laureates, as well as our Co-Hosts, Sam Cross, & Cindy Davis

• We will have a brief 10 minute break for refreshments, bathroom breaks, etc.

• The second segment of the event will then be open mic style. Each poet wishing to share will have a 5 minute max slot
